Cancellation Policy
Before proof of completion is submitted, either party may cancel a Pact:
- Buyer cancellation: The buyer receives a full refund of the agreed price and all fees.
- Seller cancellation: The buyer receives a full refund of the agreed price and all fees. Seller cancellations result in escalating account restrictions, up to permanent restriction from accepting new work.
Once proof has been submitted, cancellation is no longer available. The transaction proceeds through approval, completion, or dispute review.
Refund Policy
Pact is a marketplace platform and does not itself sell goods or services, all transactions are arranged directly between users. Refunds are issued in the following circumstances:
- A Pact is cancelled by the buyer before proof submission, the buyer is refunded in full.
- A Pact is cancelled by the seller before proof submission, the buyer is refunded in full.
- A dispute is raised and resolved in the buyer's favour, the full pact amount is refunded to the original payment method.
- A pact is voided due to a platform enforcement action, any escrowed funds are refunded in full.
Refunds are processed through Trustap and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on the card issuer. To request a refund outside of the above scenarios, contact support@pact.market.
Dispute Resolution Policy
If a buyer is unsatisfied with the completed work, either party may raise a dispute through the app before releasing payment. Both parties are required to submit evidence. Pact reviews the evidence and issues one of the following resolutions:
- In favour of the seller, payment is released from escrow and transferred to the seller.
- In favour of the buyer, the full pact amount is refunded to the buyer.
Dispute decisions are final. For escalations, contact support@pact.market. Users who repeatedly raise frivolous disputes may have their accounts suspended.
Return Policy
Pact does not directly sell goods or services and has no return policy of its own. Any return or exchange arrangement for physical goods transacted between users is solely between those users. Pact's dispute resolution process covers payment disputes, not physical returns or exchanges.
Off-Platform Payments
Arranging payment outside of the Pact platform is strictly prohibited and may result in a permanent ban. Pact's escrow-based payment system exists specifically to protect both parties, bypassing it removes the dispute resolution, refund guarantees, and payment security that the platform is designed to provide. All transactions arranged through Pact must be completed through the app.
Legal & Export Restrictions
The platform may not be used to arrange transactions for goods or services that are illegal under applicable law in the user's jurisdiction. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their listings and activities comply with all applicable laws, including any licensing, permit, or insurance requirements relevant to what they offer. Pact does not facilitate the sale or export of controlled goods, weapons, hazardous materials, or any item subject to US export control regulations (EAR/ITAR).
